About Me
First and foremost? I’m a mom and a wifey. I try to practice what I preach and have done a lot of my own therapy. I love home design, art, coffee, going on adventures that make my kids smile, and dates that draw me closer to my husband. I love cosplay, nerdy stuff, and anime. I love to cook when I’m not too tired. But if you’re looking for the elevator pitch…
I am a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) and studying for my Ph.D. in Psychology. I’ve been practicing therapy for a decade now! I received my Bachelor’s in Psychology from Whitworth University in 2012, and my Master’s in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Kentucky in 2016.
Since then I’ve followed my dream of becoming a well-trained and well-rounded therapist. I’m a life-long learner trained in the following therapies and techniques:
Interpersonal Psychotherapy
Cognitive Processing Therapy
Dialectical Behavioral Therapy
Functional Analytic Psychotherapy
Exposure Therapy
Relational therapies including Family Systems, Gottman Method, and Emotionally-Focused
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
Somatic and mindfulness techniques
Developmental and attachment-focused techniques
Certified Clinical Trauma Professional
My first experience in mental health was as a volunteer in the Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery in Spokane, WA providing emergent attachment-informed care to young children. I briefly interned in Chicago, IL as an auditor for a domestic violence program serving immigrant women. Both these experiences shaped my love of working with people who have endured harsh experiences.
I’ve worked in several positions, including a specialized psychology practice treating OCD and PTSD, an at-risk youth clinic providing in-home therapy for vulnerable youth and young adults; and a national mental health organization focused on telehealth services. I currently maintain a small private practice through the Sondermind network.
I am an affirming and informed provider for people in kink, ethical non-monogamy, and LGBTQ+ lifestyles.
